Overview

Market leading business based in South Manchester have partnered with Walters People as they search for a Shared Services Manager to oversee their UK and European transactional finance team. Working with the Finance Director you will inherit the existing payables, receivables and travel and expenses function whilst being tasked with centralising other AP, AR and T&E functions from Europe into Manchester. Key Responsibilities include; Lead, manage, motivate and develop a team Be instrumental in recruiting new team members and facilitate the smooth transfer of work from other business units Co-ordinate staff with regard to planning, target setting, implementation of KPIs and organising work allocation Oversee the team managing invoice queries, allocating cash, raise credit notes and manual invoices Responsible for the day to day maintenance of new vendors, customers, and employees. Ensuring that these controls are completed accurately and in accordance to the business SLA to meet compliance standards with regards to these controls. Ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring of the company bank account balances. Reconciling all transactions covering all accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card receipts and miscellaneous charges Closing the books at month-end including intracompany Lead and support projects to improve processes throughout the Transactional Team. Ensuring that all reporting distributed (both internally and externally) to the Transactional team is timely, meaningful and accurate Co-ordinate the year-end audit process for the Transactional Team as well as ensuring the implementation of all recommendations as appropriate Monitor and submit weekly KPIs across the Transactional Team Work alongside the Management team to implement a cross-training plan throughout the Transactional Team End-to-end responsibility for the one or more of the global Finance processes. Key skills preferred; The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate at least 5 years of experience at management level Experience of managing teams in a global shared services environment Comfortable at working in a fast-paced environment that has a high level of transactions; hitting deadlines but remaining as a support function to the business. Possess excellent communication skills both on the phone & written. Highly motivated and proactive who enjoys leading and working in a team, whilst also taking full ownership and accountability of delivering results. Computer literate with excellent excel skills.
