Overview
Group Financial Controller - Immediate Start We have partnered with a UK leading construction business to recruit a highly intelligent and dynamic financial controller, to strengthen the accounting and finance function over a period of restructuring and period of change for the business. This is an opportunity to work for an award-winning business, with a focus on the culture and standards of its workplace and which manages some of the most prestigious construction projects in the world. The Role The successful candidate will lead a team of 25 people and focus on leading the production of statutory accounts, managing the tax compliance processes and co-ordinating internal and external audits. Due to the financial restructuring going on within the business, this role will also focus on strengthening the finance function and will therefore include improving the controls and reducing the time it takes to produce the financials. Key responsibilities will include : Responsible for the production of statutory accounts and compliance processes ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and deadlines. Manage the tax compliance processes (for corporation tax, VAT, PAYE & NIC and CIS) ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and deadlines Co-ordinate the External Audit Oversee the management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions. Responsible for financial month end cycle, focus on strong controls, reduce month end close and efficient processes. Review consolidated group accounts Responsible for production of Group Cash position Manage and develop finance processes to ensure that financial controls are maintained to a high standard Manage the group’s fixed asset registers and ensure that all capital expenditure is authorised at agreed levels. Responsibility for group’s pension accounts including monthly audit and reconciliation. Intercompany Accounting processes Requirements Previous PLC finance experience including consolidation and year end accounting ACA/ACCA Qualified Excellent management track record Experience leading external audits Familiar with Coins ERP system (desirable but not essential)
