Boost your skills, top up your student loan, and give back to your community with NCS Paid, flexible summer work throughout June - August 2020 Salary: £1,111.50 (15 day wave) £1,423 (20 day wave) Daily residential rate: £89 Daily non-residential rate: £62.30 Role length: 15 day Wave (programme) consists of 10 days residential; and 5 days non-residential 20 day Wave (programme) consists of 10 days residential; and 10 days non-residential There is potential to work more then 1 wave depending on staff performance and young people numbers. All our waves are weekdays with all weekends off. Locations : North East & South East London positions available throughout June and August 2020 The Programme 3 learning phrases: Phase 1 Be Epic - The first 5 days (mon-fri) will be based at a residential centre away from home where teams of young people supported by staff will take part in challenging outdoor team building activities. Phase 2 Live Life - The following 5 days (mon-fri) will be based in university-style accommodation where the teams supported by staff will develop life skills through facilitated activities which will be delivered with the support of local partners. Phase 3 Do Good - fuelled by phase 1 and 2 the final 10 days (Mon-Fri)will be non-residential, based within the local community where teams supported by staff will design and deliver a youth-led socialaction project. About the role Come and work for Twin, a delivery partner of NCS, this summer and become a role model for a team of 15-17 year olds throughout our youth and community programme. We are looking for 140 Assistant Team Leaders to work in London. NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government-backed initiative with a mission to equip 15-17 year olds with the confidence, skills and support they need to make a real difference in their communities. The aim is to encourage young people from different backgrounds to mix through a local, community-based programme. Assistant Team Leaders will support and motivate groups of young people through the NCS programme, encouraging them to bond as a team and fully engage with the curriculum throughout the 3 or 4 week programme. They will support the Team Leader to deliver engaging activity plans to facilitate discussions and plans to guide and mentor young people. Principle accountabilities: Support teams of up to 16 young people Health, safety and well-being of all participants during the course of the programme Supporting successful delivery of the programme/contract Facilitating appropriate participant activity Liaise with all Twin departments as required Person specification An ideal Assistant Team Leader candidate would have: Excellent organisational skills Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment Good interpersonal skills with people at all levels A problem solver who thrives in a challenging environment A flexible attitude to work This partly residential role is perfect for a highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter, looking to gain invaluable youth work and leadership experience. The role may require long working hours and night shifts during the residential weeks of the programme. You will be working residentially and non-residentially Monday to Friday during all parts of the 3 or 4 week programme with weekends off. Twin Training International is committed to safeguarding.
