Salary: £1,074.00 (10 day wave) £3,222.00 (30 day wave) Daily residential rate: £107.40 Role length: 10 day Wave (programme) consists of 10 days residential 30 day Wave (programme) consists of 30 days residential There is potential to work more then 1 wave depending on staff performance and young people numbers. All our waves are weekdays with all weekends off. Locations : North and South East and London positions available throughout June to August 2020 The Programme 3 learning phrases: Phase 1 Be Epic The first 5 days (mon-fri) will be based at a residential centre away from home where teams of young people supported by staff will take part in challenging outdoor team building activities. Phase 2 Live Life - The following 5 days (mon-fri) will be based in university-style accommodation where the teams supported by staff will develop life skills through facilitated activities which will be delivered with the support of local partners. Phase 3 Do Good fuelled by phase 1 and 2 the final 10 days (Mon-Fri)will be non-residential, based within the local community where teams supported by staff will design and deliver a youth-led socialaction project. About the role Come and work for Twin, a delivery partner of NCS, this summer as an Assistant Wave Leader to assist the Wave Leader in the day-to-day running of the NCS programme to help maintain proper levels of 15-17 year olds safety, discipline and welfare throughout our youth and community programme in London. We are looking for 30 Assistant Wave Leaders to work in London. NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government-backed initiative with a mission to equip 15-17 year olds with the confidence, skills and support they need to make a real difference in their communities. The aim is to encourage young people from different backgrounds to mix through a local, community-based programme. The Assistant Wave Leader works throughout the two residential phases of the programme, providing floating support for all teams of young people including Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders to deliver an effective curriculum for all phrases of the programme, including community and volunteering activities in a fun, team environment. Principle accountabilities: Health, safety and well-being of all participants during the course of the programme Successful delivery of the programme/contract Developing and facilitating appropriate participant activity Liaise with all Twin departments as required Person specification An ideal Assistant Wave Leader candidate would have: Good interpersonal skills with people at all levels Excellent organisational skills Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment Good interpersonal skills with people at all levels A problem solver who thrives in a challenging environments A flexible attitude to work This is a fully residential role and is perfect for an experienced professional with a background in the education or youth work sector. The role may require long working hours and night shifts during the residential weeks of the programme. You will be working residentially Monday to Fridays during all of phrase 2 with weekends off.
