Our mission is to helping people realise their full potential through life enhancing experiences Enable a young person to have the summer of a lifetime - competitive flexible paid roles throughout June - August 2020 with NCS Salary: £1,353.75 (15 day wave) £1,747.50 (20 day wave) Daily residential rate: £96 Daily non-residential rate: £78.75 Role length: 15 day Wave (programme) consists of 10 days residential; and 5 days non-residential 20 day Wave (programme) consists of 10 days residential; and 10 days non-residential There is potential to work more then 1 wave depending on staff performance and young people numbers. All our waves are weekdays with all weekends off. Locations : North and South East London The Programme 3 learning phrases: Phase 1 Be Epic - The first 5 days (mon-fri) will be based at a residential centre away from home where teams of young people supported by staff will take part in challenging outdoor team building activities. Phase 2 Live Life - The following 5 days (mon-fri) will be based in university-style accommodation where the teams supported by staff will develop life skills through facilitated activities which will be delivered with the support of local partners. Phase 3 Do Good - fuelled by phase 1 and 2 the final 10 days (Mon-Fri)will be non-residential, based within the local community whereteams supported by staff will design and deliver a youth-led socialaction project. About the role Come and work for Twin, a delivery partner of NCS, this summer and become a role model for a team of 15-17 year olds throughout our youth and community programme. We are looking for Support Workers to work in London and Dorset, the total number of staff required will be dependent on the individual needs of the young people Support Workers to work in London. NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government-backed initiative with a mission to equip 15-17 year olds with the confidence, skills and support they need to make a real difference in their communities. The aim is to encourage young people from different backgrounds to mix through a local, community-based programme. We strive for the NCS programme to be as inclusive as possible, providing additional support and resources to improve accessibility for young people with SEND, behavioural, emotional and/or physical needs. Support Workers are 'matched’ to a young person with additional needs throughout their entire NCS journey, assisting and motivating them to participate to their full potential and get the most out of the programme. Depending on the Support Worker’s past experience and skills, they will be providing assistance for learning & engagement (SEND), mental health, physical disabilities, behavioural support and/or personal care. Principle accountabilities : Pastorally care for the young person, ensuring their consistent health, safety & support on the programme. Working with the Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders to ensure that the assigned young person fully integrates into their team. Adapting activities and curriculum sessions to make them accessible for the young person. Consistently complete the young person’s Support Plan throughout the programme. Person Specification: Ability to see the big picture Flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach to the job Confidence in delivering activities, workshops and reflection to Young People Excellent communication and problem solving skills Good decision making ability Good time-management and organisation skills Committed to continuous personal and organisational development Creative and energetic Ability to work within a team and on your own initiative. This partly residential role is perfect for a confident, compassionate and high-energy individual, with extensive experience of supporting a range of access needs. The role may require long working hours and night shifts during the residential weeks of the programme. You will be working residentially and non-residentially Monday to Friday during all parts of the 3 or 4 week programme with weekends off. Twin Training International is committed to safeguarding.
