Overview
My client are a international trade banking specialist based in the City, who are seeking a Senior Documentary Checker at 1st or 2nd checking. You will be responsible for all documentary credits processing which will include 1st and/or 2nd checking of documents presented under Letters of Credit and processing relevant refusals in line with guidelines, always ensuring the bank’s position is protected at all times. Will also be required to process communications issued and/or received by the department. Checking of documents presented against conditions of Letters of Credit in accordance with relative rules and/self-regulation as well as ensuring the Bank’s standards are complied with in order to ensure the Bank’s position is protected at all times. This may be a first, second or single check dependent on experience within 48 hours of receipt by the Bank. Ensure refusals are processed within departments agreed SLA’s. Ensure compliance with the Bank’s sanctions and due diligence requirements as well as liaising with other departments as and when required. Acts as a source of reference to all clients and counter parties. Ensures that customers receive an efficient and professional service within agreed turnaround times. Ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently and professionally maintaining a high standard of customer service. Calculating and reviewing commissions ensuring all fees due to the Bank are collected. Involvement with processing of participations, syndications and back to backs. Act as a subject matter expert for Letters of Credit and related Trade Finance products. The ideal candidate will have: Currently 2nd Checking Documents. Strong knowledge of SWIFT Message Types Qualified CDCS, CITF and or CTFC preferred. Detailed knowledge of documentary credits and all applicable ICC rules and publications. Immediately available or 1/2 weeks notice period. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 6 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT.
