User Researcher Birmingham, West Midlands If you are a User Researcher with experience of supporting the delivery of digital services, this is an exciting opportunity to influence the digital offering of a leading regulatory body. About Us Set up under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling. We do this by keeping crime out, protecting children and vulnerable people and ensuring the commercial gambling industry is run fairly and openly. We work with the legal system, the public health system, community groups and the industry itself to understand how we can protect the interests of as many people as possible, as effectively as possible. We are now looking for a User Researcher to join our Digital Team and support the ongoing development and delivery of our digital services. The Role As a User Researcher, you will build a strong understanding of the needs of our users to help create clear, simple and accessible digital services for the Gambling Commission. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure that our services allow users to achieve their goal first time and in a way that makes sense to them. Specifically, you will: Increase your understanding of the Gambling Commission, including our goals, intent and needs Develop and oversee the effective use of user research to inform the delivery of projects Help to plan research activities by defining objectives, the methods we’ll use and how users will be recruited Facilitate research sessions and guide discussions Create materials to communicate insights to the Project Teams and encourage user-centred conversations Use research, data and insight to continuously improve our information and services About You To join us as a User Researcher, you will need: The proven ability to research diverse audiences to deliver accessible and inclusive digital services An understanding of a range of user research methods and the ability to apply these correctly for different lifecycle phases Familiarity with applying ethical standards and practices to ensure the safeguarding of research participants and user researchers Other organisations may call this role User Experience Researcher, UX Researcher, Digital User Researcher, UX Designer, or User Experience Designer.
