Job Description
Role Type Central Support Country England Address / location of vacancy Merchants Warehouse Castle Street Manchester M3 4LZ Full / Part Time Full Time Contract type Permanent Hours 37.5 Hours Per Week Job description Understanding our customers is at the heart of our transformation. As our User Researcher you will be responsible for planning, designing and carrying out user research across our digital products and services. You might not have considered a career in tech, but the research skills you developed while studying your degree (specifically in areas such as psychology) give you the perfect foundation to help shape digital products around our customers. You'll use both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gain insights into customer needs and behaviours, and work with the wider digital team to translate these insights into the design of products, features and services. Working across a range of products, you'll get to see your research make a real difference to what we build. You'll be part of a friendly, fast-paced team with loads of opportunities to learn from other people in the team. You'll also have your manager's support to develop your skills and progress your career. With almost 800 stores and over 7000 dedicated employees, we are the UK's largest independent pharmacy chain. Customer care is at the heart of everything we do and as we continue to grow at an incredible rate, exciting opportunities are being created for people like you to join our team. Although you don't need to have previous experience working in a digital department, a passion for technology and innovation is a must. Ideally, you'll have some knowledge of user-centred design practices, and some experience of working in an agile development environment. If you don't have these things but are still interested in the role, please get in touch at askrecruitment@well.co.uk and we'll arrange an initial chat with our Customer Experience Lead. What you'll do: * Designing and running contextual and discovery research to develop a deep understanding of the needs of all users of a service * Identifying the most suitable research methodology for a particular project, getting the highest quality insights within time and budgetary constraints. * Drive improvements in practice. * Contributing to innovation in the way research is carried out and delivered, and developing research strategies to understand user needs, test and improve our products. * Building a culture of team involvement in user research which helps teams to identify, validate and prioritise user needs. * Develop and implement effective research questions, communicate research findings, and advocate for the customer throughout our design and development process. * Keep abreast of useful information, resources, equipment, tools, technical and technological development in related fields, to ensure research capacity is up-to-date. Problem Solving & Change * Ability to synthesize research down to a digestible format and get to the 'so what?' of a research enquiry. * Curiosity and the ability to see the bigger picture behind research queries. * Organise research findings and data to ensure strategic and valuable information is available. * Remain positive under pressure during challenging situations. Key knowledge and skills required for the role: * Proven experience of designing, facilitating and analysing qualitative and quantitative user research methods. * Excellent listening skills - you approach research interviews with an open mind and want to hear what the participant has to say, rather than guiding the participant to say what you want to hear. * Strong understanding of strengths and limitations of different research methods. * Proven experience of presenting research findings in a wide variety of formats and contexts. In return we can offer you: * Competitive salaries * Excellent training & development opportunities * Paid Holidays * Workplace pension scheme * Staff Discount * Travel Loans and more...
