Permanent Assistant Quantity Surveyor role - Nottinghamshire, Private Housebuilder, High Spec - Circa £35k Your new company You will be working for a Nottinghamshire based house builder who are privately owned and have a reputation for producing high quality family homes. The company have a clear focus on the quality of their build being the most important element of their value proposition. To compliment this they have a close nit family run feel and they are now excited to add an additional Assistant Quantity Surveyor into their commercial team. Your new role You will be working alongside more Senior Quantity Surveyors and the Commercial Manager. Initially you will be responsible for putting together the groundwork package for an upcoming site up to Damp Proof Course Level. From there you will be working on the build phase of the site. General duties will include; Taking off quantities from drawings and producing BoQ for tendering, Production of comparison spreadsheets upon receipt of quotations, Preparation of Sub-Contract Orders for Senior Q.S. checking and sign off, Measurement of on-site Sub-Contract Works for valuation purposes, Measurement, costing and agreement of Sub-Contractor variations, Preparation and submission of Sub-Contract final accounts., Reconciliation of material invoices against purchase orders, Liaising with site manager requests for plant hire and material purchase, Sourcing the most competitive prices for both plant and materials, Reporting on any site delays and providing reasoning behind. What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful in this role you will have around 3 years experience either working for a new build housing contractor or a specialist residential ground works contractor in a Surveying capacity. It is essential that you will have experience of putting together the groundwork packages of developments. You will also need a full UK driving license. What you'll get in return The salary on offer is circa £35k Package.
