Job Description
Are you a self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual looking to take their first step in to an administration career in the NHS? If so, this apprenticeship post could be just what you are looking for. We are excited to be able to offer an Administration Apprenticeship opportunity working within our Clinical Pathology Department at City Hospital Campus of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. You will work alongside the team providing support in a range of duties including; patient tracking, tracing notes, sending appointments, typing clinic letters, data input of patient demographics in a laboratory setting, answering telephone enquiries, booking patient appointments, sorting post, general filing, electronic scanning of documents and updating records as well as other general office duties along with working in the laboratory data inputting the Trisomy analysis requests. You will also be given the opportunity of working at the General Office, QMC Campus where we give patient results to outside bodies on a daily basis along side sorting results and the distribution of the same. You will need good communications skills and will be supported to develop lots of new and current skills including; prioritisation, attention to detail, using your own initiative and the ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment. You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with good organisational skills. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable. You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure. You will present a professional and polite attitude at all times. You will learn and develop skills using Microsoft Office and NHS systems. This is a 12 month fixed term apprenticeship and you must be committed to work towards a level 2 or 3 Diploma in Business and Administration.
