Overview
This high-profile London based not for profit organisation is looking to recruit a Research Management Accountant to provide critical management information, support and ensure the research teams are adhering to key financial processes and compliance activities in respect to their grant funded activities. Reporting to a Senior Research Accountant, your daily’s duties will include: Maintain key financial schedules for cost sharing with research partner organisations, liaising with Senior Research Accountants and Research Budget Holders on queries and undertaking corrections required Assist in ensuring that financial reconciliations and funder reports are prepared for all grants on a timely basis Ensure that budgets are loaded and monitored for externally funded research activities in line with the funder financial cycle Provide comprehensive financial management support to budget holders on smaller grants, including studentship and fellowship grants Load grant income and expenditure budgets on timely basis for awards, in line with the specific award lifecycle, and undertake virements where required Assist in the provision of grant costing information for grant applications. This will involve supporting Senior Grant Accountants in ensuring that applications meet policies around research governance and overhead recovery The successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant who is committed to working towards their ACCA/CIMA professional qualification. You must have an interest in and commitment to providing accounting support within a scientific research environment. You must possess high attention to detail and have strong influencing skills whilst possessing first class written and verbal communication skills. For this exciting role, it is essential that you have excellent systems skills including being an advanced user of Excel, whilst a working knowledge of Agresso would provide a distinct advantage.
