Overview

My client a leading wholesaler in Leeds are looking for an IT technician to come on board and join their team on a full time basis. This is a new role to support the business as it moves into a phase of expansion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid IT background to come on board and join a rewarding and friendly employer. Your duties will include: Resolve end colleague hardware problems to their satisfaction and undertake problem reviews to avoid repeat faults. Work with IT hardware suppliers to procure required hardware PC’s, laptops, mobile phones, hand- held scanners ensuring commercial value. Configure end devices onto the local network and troubleshoot IP address conflicts. Provision devices onto wireless network and undertake decommissioning activity to support colleague leavers. Ensure appropriate levels of end user and network security recommending appropriate upgrades. Work with 3rd party network providers to ensure contracts are delivering value for money with specific emphasis on delivery a new mobile phone contract. Test enhancements to the customer digital platform and recommend application improvements to improve the customer experience. Undertake data configuration and workflow changes to the customer digital platforms Ensure that appropriate back-up solutions are in place and fully tested in the event of a disaster recovery scenario. Develop business object operational reports for use by the management team. To undertake any required call out in the event of system failures, note this will be on an infrequent basis. To report to the company owner on a daily basis. Full training to be provided The candidate will be a self-starter with ability to work on his/her own, controlling your workload and setting the future IT direction for the company. Key Skills needed: IT Support gained in a service desk environment or with an IT service provider - 2 years’ experience Desktop Microsoft support with experience in upgrading end user devices to the latest Microsoft operating system. Understanding of remote access technology, end user mobility solutions and telephony voice over IP. Provisioning and de-installing range of company business applications onto to company Apple devices. Understanding of network infrastructure with focus on troubleshooting wireless technology faults. Fault fixing end user technology hardware faults, desktop, printers, handheld and mobile solutions. Understanding of latest security technology and ability to performs upgrades and recommend new technology offerings. An understanding of data maintenance activities for the customer digital offering. Ability to work with 3rd party customer digital application service providers. Strong knowledge in developing business reports in both Business Objects and Xcel. Ability to work with IT network, mobile and application service providers on service reviews and future direction. Understanding of social media marketing and ability to use social media platforms to attract new customers and promote customer offerings. A strong service first attitude and ability to interact with colleagues in a family friendly firm. Emotionally resilient, ability to work under pressure and highly reliable Ability to work independently and with the minimum of supervision. Full UK driving licence.
