Overview

In a nutshell, you'll help ensure only the very best products are chosen for our stores. Quality Assurance puts in place the processes and procedures that help our Buying teams to make well informed purchasing decisions. Working with a defined Buying team you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of products and liaising with technical service providers to ensure all our products are safe and compliant to legal requirements. After all, only the best will do. We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. Naturally, the products we select for these stores are central to our success. And Quality Assurance is an essential part of this winning formula. Focusing on non-Food/Hardlines areas you will be an experienced Senior Technical professional, with experience in a Quality, R&D, Consumer Goods manufacture or product safety field. Working with a defined Buying team responsible for managing a diverse range of Hardlines commodity groups, you will be responsible for liaising with technical service providers to develop testing requirements which ensure products are compliant to legal requirements.Through your team of two direct reports, you will devise and complete relevant testing regimes for new products, in order to help to drive and shape the technical strategy for this product area. You will be a strong people manager, a good communicator, and be able to influence all levels within a business. You will have an understanding of EU laws and be able to interpret legislation in order to ensure that products are launched that meet safe, legal and defined quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a good track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, have excellent verbal and written skills and will have previously demonstrated their ability in a fast-paced, cross-functional/FMCG environment. Candidates should have previous experience in multiple Hardlines areas, and be keen to expand their knowledge further within these product categories. Minimum Requirements: - 2.1 degree (or equivalent level qualification) in a Product Design or relevant Engineering field - Experience in Quality, R&D, consumer goods manufacture, product safety or similar field - Hardlines/non-food experience - Knowledge of EU regulations, fit for use testing and management of technical service providers - Excellent communication skills - Experience managing teams is essential Please note, if you are applying via a job site your CV will not be attached, therefore please ensure you complete the application form.
