Overview
Quality Manager (12 month FTC) Midlands £53,485 Are you an experienced Quality/Technical professional looking for a new challenge? Our client, a leading retailer, is recruiting for a Quality Manager for non-Food/Hardline categories, to join their Quality Assurance department. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years experience in Retail Quality, NPD, Consumer goods manufacture or a product safety field. You will need to be a strong people manager and a good communicator ready to take on the challenge of managing a diverse range of Hardlines commodity groups. You will be responsible for: · Liaising with Technical Service providers and Buyers to develop quality, safe and legal products · Interpreting legislation in order to ensure that products launched are safe, legal and meet defined quality standards · Understanding, conveying and managing EU laws to ensure products are safe · Delivery and management of projects, ensuring they are brought in on time and within budget · Manage, direct and recruit a team of Quality Assistants and Administrators · Working alongside internal departments and external stakeholders in order to implement and define the Quality Strategy What's in it for you? · Be part of a leading international retailer · A comprehensive training programme · High levels of autonomy and responsibility · Problem solving of real business challenges · 5 weeks annual leave · Lead and manage a highly competent team Selection Criteria: · Minimum 3 years of management experience, preferably in FMCG · Hardlines/ Nonfood experience, knowledge of EU regulations, fit for use testing, management of technical service providers · Bachelor or Masters Degree in a Product Design or Engineering food subject · Previous experience in manufacturing/laboratory environments · Proven success in leadership roles · Experience managing teams and 3 rd party technical service providers · Previous experience and strong understanding within the Quality sector · Project management experience · Experience developing product specifications At Inplace Recruitment we believe it is people that make the business succeed, the right people, expertly placed in the correct positions.
