Overview
International Bank is seeking a hybrid senior person to cover LC / Doc checking and also have experience in Settlements and /or Payments. This role will see you being a Team Leader type profile and a relaxed 9-5 environment. The role is to check and verify transactions for the Bank on behalf of customers and treasury, thus providing the Bank with vital support in servicing their customers’ needs in an accurate and timely manner. The role requires the individual to be extremely diligent and requires a high level of care and consideration at all times. The candidate for this job is required to be systematic and accurate in the input and checking of their work. The day to day role will include (but not limited to) the following: Customer Transactions: Checking and validation of inward / outward payments on behalf of customers and third parties by CHAPS/SWIFTS Checking and validation of cheques/drafts Checking and validation of agency cheques Checking and validation of direct debits, bank giro credits and payrolls Checking and validation of Processing of cheques received from customers to be paid into their accounts held with us Checking and validation of Foreign exchange deals Queries with banks and customers To check reconciliations and assist with the clearing of items where necessary. Checking and validation of new and renewals of customer deposits. Checking and validation of Input of account opening, amendments to accounts and renewals of KYC. Oversight of the Back Office Bank Clerks with regards to organisation and highlight any issues to management Treasury Transactions: Checking and validation of Bank to Bank Loans, transfers, Deposits, Swaps and Foreign Exchanges. Ensuring Nostro position payments are covered and paid. Checking and validation of customer temporary loans Checking and validation of overseas cheque payments and collection. Checking of currency, interest and deposit rates. Oversight of the Back Office Bank Clerks with regards to organisation and highlight any issues to management. Requirements: Banking professional with the responsibility to authorise or verify payments. Knowledge across Payments, Treasury and Trade Finance.
