Overview

Network Operations Engineer - London, Kingston, Greater London £40-45,000 Concept IT are looking for a Network Operations Engineer to join a growing IT services organisation based in Kingston, London. The role covers a wide range of the latest networking technologies and allows the candidate to learn skills with; LAN, WAN, VLAN, TCIP, WiFi, Wireless, Routing, Switching, MPLS, VRS, BGP etc The role plays a key part in resolving technical faults across our customer base which includes end users and managed service offerings. Products supported will include a wide range of services ranging from public and private cloud services, large enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructures through to end user troubleshooting. The role offers the opportunity to work with some exceptionally talented network specialists and is committed to personal career growth. The role is Mon-Fri day work currently - but need flexibility to work other hours when required. Key Duties Handle technical support issues via incident management escalations - ITIL Troubleshooting and Configuring network protocols Daily use of monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues Configuration and commissioning of wired and wireless networking equipment Integration of multi-vendor network devices with the monitoring systems Maintenance and development of the monitoring systems Day-to-day Technical Operation activities (network migrations, design changes, infrastructure updates and firmware updates) Technical Requirements Previous experience in network operations centre in the ISP/Telecoms industry Working experience on incident management processes and prioritisation Excellent general networking knowledge, including routing (OSPF, BGP), firewalls and switching Strong desire and knowledge to work within Internet Service Provider industry Good understanding of RADIUS protocol Good knowledge of WiFi standards and general Wireless principles Good knowledge of security protocols and firewalls (desirable) Network Infrastructure Design abilities Knowledge of high availability protocols and design, on both Layer 2 and Layer 3 (desirable) Working experience of routing protocols (implementation and troubleshooting) Networking certifications one or more of the following: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA or similar lever other certifications. Salary on offer is £40-45,000 benefits Looking to move ASAP.
