Overview
Key Worker for Care Leavers Role based in South East London paying up to £12.50 Your new company My Life Semi Independent Project offer and provide young people with daily life skills such as cooking, budgeting, accessing education, training or employment. The Home is staffed 24/7 and they require self-motivated and driven individuals to commit to 24.5 hour shifts including sleeping ins 2 - 3 times per week. This will include weekends. Your new role To deliver and support up to 5 Young People leaving care both male and females within a Ione working environment, within a semi-Independent Home. This will be based around structured key work sessions to vulnerable young people aged 16 - 19. These sessions will aim to promote the life skills of young people and support their transition into adulthood. What you'll need to succeed Manage a caseload of between 1 - 5 young people living semi-independently in the community Support the young person in settling within the community and accessing local resources Encourage and support young people in accessing education, training or employment as well as supporting them with any application process Support and assist young people around budgeting money, grocery shopping and administer a weekly subsistence allowance Encourage the young person to engage and take part with positive activities within the community, building on relationships and developing social networks Maintain accurate record/ log keeping To maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the unit Ideally has a QCF/ NVQ Level 3 Award in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People).
