Overview

Network Engineer Enterprise Data Centre (CLIENT) requires Network Engineering services to support the Corporate (IT) Enterprise Network, Operational (OT) Data Centre and DevOps space. You will be required to support the updating and upgrading of a large Customer MPLS-based Network, with over 1,800 Cisco-based Network Campuses consisting of over 2,000 Cisco-based Firewalls/Routers/Switches Produce Network High Level and Low Level Design Documents Implement Network Configuration to equipment as per ITSM/ITIL-aligned processes and ITIL Change Management Act as Tier 4 Technical Support for troubleshooting and operation of the Corporate Enterprise, Operational Data Centre and related estate Creation of Automation scripts and programs which aim to glue together Development and Operations within the wider community Key Deliverables: Responsible for creation of Low Level and High Level Network Design documentation for Enterprise LAN-WAN and Wireless Campuses (including Firewalls, Switches and Routers) Responsible for managing Design documentation through Waterfall Lifecyle-based Governance and Implementation workflow, through to Implementation Compliance to ITIL, ITSM and Design Governance processes Assist with Network Implementation in Data Centre and Enterprise MPLS/LAN-WAN estate Assist with Network Implementation in Security estate Configuring and implementing Network Routers, Network Switches, Network Firewalls, Converged Ethernet/SAN Devices Configuring and implementing Virtualisation Servers, Virtual Switches, Virtual Machines Updating FCAPS data within NMS and OSS/BSS Tooling Creation of Automation Tooling and Scripting in pursuit of CI/CD of disparate NMS, OSS and BSS Tooling estates Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across multiple Business Units to achieve goals Complying to network standards Key skills required to deliver the service: Essential Experience in Operations or Design of a Cisco-based Network of over 500 devices Experience in alignment of ITIL and ITSM Processes (ie Change Management, Configuration Management, Incident Management), Practices and Tooling (ie Assyst/Remedy/ServiceNow) Experience in TCP/IP Networking (L2 Switching, L3 Routing, Wireless, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) Experience in MPLS Networking (IP VPN, VRF, MP-BGP) Experience with Data Centre Networking (Firewall, FC, FCoE, Server, VMware ESXi) Experience with DDI/DCIM Tooling (NetBox, Infoblox, Cramer) Experience with Network Management Systems (Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Prime NGN Suite, Observium/LibreNMS, iCinga, NetFlow Analyzer) Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP, Hyper-V and Microsoft certifications strongly desired Ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders to create Network Designs Ability to liaise between disparate technical teams to assist in Troubleshooting and Implementation Proven work experience as a Network Design or Operations Engineer Desirable A network engineer degree, telecom engineer degree, or degree in computer science, cybersecurity or related IT fields or equivalent of education and experience Proficiency in DevOps and Automation Scripting (Python, PHP, Perl, C++, JavaScript, jQuery) Proficiency in DevOps and Automation tooling (Ansible, CI/CD, Git, RESTful API) This job was originally posted as www.cwjobs.co.uk/job/89932490
