If you want to support people and help them improve in a safe environment then join the team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. ? You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic therapist, working as part of a team to deliver Occupational Therapy services in accordance with the Codes of Practice of the College of Occupational Therapy. You will be able to confidently carry out and prepare group and individual activities, as designated by Occupational Therapist. ? You will working closely with the Occupational Therapist, liaising with them regarding the service users needs and participation within activities, both verbally and using the meaningful week/ Care notes recording system. ? Role - Occupational Therapist Assistant Location - Potters Bar, Hertfordshire Salary - £18,135 Hours - 37.5, Full-Time Your responsibilities To assist Occupational Therapist to carry out reviews of the service provision. To inform Occupational Therapist of patients' activity requests and observed needs. To research and identify local opportunities for patients in the local community including education and employment To ensure necessary risk assessments have been completed prior to commencement of activities and to provide input into risk assessments associated with timetabled activities To risk assess patients with NIC prior to any community access and to ensure adequate support, safeguards and protocols in place To Work with the clinical teams, to develop a calendar of social events to promote social inclusion To consider each patient's individual needs and develop positive approaches for creative engagement with the individual and their needs To coordinate equipment audits, ensuring documentation for this remains in date, to comply with legislation, escalating any concerns as they arise To ensure that all patients are enabled to have meaningful community involvement and access To work with occupational therapy to identify opportunities in the community for people to have their cultural and religious needs met. ? ? To be successful in this role, you'll need Excellent organisational skills Time management / ability to prioritise Ability to co-ordinate, motivate and engage patients Ability to support patients in a manner that is calm and enabling Form effective working relationship with all staff in the ward environment. To undertake training as identified, to enable the post holder to carry out the duties of the post. Experience of conducting relationships with a wide variety of professionals, colleagues and external agencies Ability to design meaningful activity timetables and source inventive activities suitable and relevant to patients being supported Experience of managing a changing workload / maintaining a flexible approach Experience of organising timetables and activities for multiple people Team working skills. ? Where you will be working: Location: 190 Barnet Road, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, EN6 2SE Join the team at Potters Bar Clinic providing care for young people and adults with acute mental health needs and personality disorders in an established 24-hour care environment. The CAMHS Tier 4 Low Secure services are for young people aged 13-18. Potters Bar Clinic is located in a residential area, only one minute drive from the M25 and a short bus ride from Potters Bar Train Station - with a bus stop right outside, making it an easy commute for most.
