Overview
A fantastic opportunity is now available for an up and coming Accountant with prior experience within practice. It is a hybrid role combining Practice with Industry where you will supervise a junior member of staff and complete the monthly management accounts alongside further duties across the organisation including elements of business partnering. This Accountant position is a newly formed position with the company. As the business continues to grow you will be a pivotal member of the finance team, working closely with the Senior Finance Manager who will continue to give you more exposure as time goes on. Ideally, you will: • Be an accountant with prior practice experience that includes month end management accounts, VAT returns and processing and reviewing bookkeeping for junior members of staff • Be an outgoing individual who enjoys liaising with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis • Be looking for a longstanding stable position within an organisation that will be able to offer progression a few years down the line • Have intermediate to advanced level excel skills and ideally have experience of a number of accounting software including XERO In return, you will: • Be offered the opportunity to manage a junior member of staff where prior management experience is not essential • Join an SME business in the next stage of growth where you will be a pivotal member of the finance team with a real say in terms of how the team moves forward • Put your practice experience built up to date into a new and exciting challenge within industry • Work in a close knit, friendly office environment alongside like-minded individuals where you will be encouraged to develop your role through continuous improvements to procedures, systems and processes This is a great opportunity for an Accountant with prior practice experience to gain further exposure and enhance their career potential in an industry based Management Accountant role. The Business: • Wholesaler of electronics - printing products, ink toner cartridges and other printing equipment • Import everything into the UK and work with partners from other online companies on Amazon, eBay and other places, not small - SME business • They have 10-11 partner companies - subsidiaries. At the moment they are going through a big restructure - Pushing into new markets especially online from providing storage and logistics, to management and compliance accountancy and finance • They have online businesses not only in with a UK presence but worldwide, with storage facilities where they can hold items for selling partners and they can further help with marketing branding, taxes compliance Role: • Newly formed Management Accountant position reporting directly into the Finance Manager and supervising one junior member of staff • Perform and oversee the management accounts for a number of subsidiaries within the management consultancy • Main purpose to monitor that everything is done on time by the junior member of staff and review bookkeeping • Complete tax returns and compliance for UK and abroad - registered for taxes in other countries as well • Month end management accounts, preparation of stat accounts, journal postings, import export, intercompany accounting • Dealing with external accountant, work closely with non-financial stakeholders both internal and external Clients looking for: • Someone who can come in and get the job done, confident in completing these tasks and won’t need much hand holding • A stable candidate who doesn’t job hop and can see the opportunity and buys into what the business are looking to do • Ideally wants someone from a Practice background who understands tax well and is used to preparing accounts for multiple sites • A people person looking for a nice working environment and enjoys liaising with colleagues and stakeholders across the business • XERO accounting software would be beneficial along with strong spreadsheet
