Job title: Specialist Support Worker (Mental Health) Location of the job: Essex Locations to cover (if candidates will be required to travel): North - Ilford, Islington, Hackney South - Lewisham, Lambeth, Waterloo Contract type: Full time (temp) Weekly hours: 37.5 hours Working hours and breaks: Various shifts Ilford - involve sleep ins - 8am-10pm mixture of shifts Islington - involve sleep ins - 8am-10pm mixture of shifts Hackney - 8-10 mixture of shifts no sleep ins, some Saturdays. 8am-8pm may be long days Prout Road (24/7 service) shifts: 8am - 4pm or 2.30pm - 10.30pm. Hanna Mews Shifts: 8am - 8pm Mon - Sun Lewisham - Support Housing - 9am - 8pm, 9am-5pm M-F housing management services Lambeth - Some weekends, no sleep ins - 9am - 8pm Waterloo - 9am - 5pm Pay rate per hour: £11.30 via PAYE or £14.25 through an Umbrella Company Start date: ASAP E nhanced DBS required General Duties Carry out needs and risk assessments, complete support plans, provide support, and carry out reviews, in accordance with policies and procedures and the requirements of stakeholders and funders. Support customers to maximise their income, to access benefits, and to budget to cover domestic bills and living expenses. Support customers to sustain their housing, and identify and move onto housing which meets their needs. Accurately input all client data onto an electronic monitoring system and ensure records are maintained to evidence key performance targets, and comply with commissioner requirements. Liaise promptly with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders regarding safeguarding, welfare and risk concerns in accordance with Peabody policy. Participate in customer reviews, team meetings and training courses. Actively promote the remit of the service to a range of customers and other professionals as appropriate. Attend stakeholder and partnership events as required. Prompt customers re medication and encourage self-management of health and wellbeing. Maintain safe practice at all times in accordance with Peabody’s policies. Undertake administrative duties and any other reasonable requests from your line manager. Essential criteria Effective team working with allocated shifts on a rota basis including weekends Effective Report writing and IT literacy including Word, excel and data entry systems Able to communicate effectively with customers, staff and external agencies. Empathy for the client group Ability to provide excellent customer service Passionate about being able to make a real difference in people’s lives Knowledge of Health and Safety in a supported housing environment To have achieved a formal qualification relevant to the client group such as QCF level 2 in Health & Social Care of higher or be willing to work towards this. Experience and knowledge of best practise in working with a mental health client group or vulnerable adults and promoting their recovery and independence. Experience of using support planning and risk assessment tools Knowledge of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for this client group and knowledge to be able to challenge discrimination and stigma. Knowledge of Safeguarding vulnerable adults Desirable • Experience and knowledge of the Recovery Model.
