Overview

We are a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy looking to appoint Acoustic Consultants to join our growing environmental team. Although this role is advertised at our head office is in Chatham, Kent we also have a Midlands office and will promote flexible and remote working for the right candidate. The role will require you to undertake assessment of noise and vibration for various types of projects including residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. You may also have the opportunity to provide acoustic expertise across other business sectors such as waste and renewables. There will be an expectation to take on commercial and business development activities as well as contributing to the development of our growing team. Responsibilities: The level of responsibility and expectations technically, commercially and personally will advance according to the level of consulting grade. A general summary is given below starting at consultant level. Undertake noise monitoring, modelling and assessment works. Manage workload from the start to the completion of projects and reporting. Liaising with clients, other team members and third parties such as local authorities and transport consultants throughout the reporting process. Experience of noise monitoring and assessment procedures. Familiar and competent in the application of all relevant British Standards relating to noise and vibration in residential and commercial development. As you will be collaborating with other related teams and disciplines such as air quality, an understanding of air quality assessment work would be advantageous. Expectations: The level of mastery and experience for a candidate will be used to determine the consultant grade and level of expectation. 2-3 years’ experience in acoustics and AMIOA or MIOA membership Full UK driving license Ability to manage small to medium scale projects, multi-disciplinary and number of projects subject to experience Excellent communication and commercial skills Demonstrable track record of experience in environmental acoustics and vibration assessments Excellent report writing skills Experience of noise modelling using SoundPLAN or similar software, modelling noise impacts Excellent organisational and numerical skills with experience of managing your own workload. Excellent communication skills, and confidence to liaise directly with clients and regulators. A flexible and dynamic approach and for working in a growing team.
