Overview We are currently working with a leading international law firm that is looking for a mid-level Financial Services Regulatory Associate to add their growing Financial Services & Regulatory team in their office in London. The new hire will be focusing on a wide range of non-contentious, advisory and transactional matters. The Role of a Financial Services Regulatory Associate The Financial Services & Regulatory team sits within the firm's broader Banking & Finance Practice. The team cover the breadth of the financial services sector in particular: banking, payments, funds, retail and wholesale investments, insurers, and market infrastructure providers. Within these sectors, the team has an increasing focus on FinTech clients, spanning the full scope of the sub-sectors set out above. The Financial Services Regulatory team's reputation in the market has traditionally been stronger on the contentious side, with the practice having been involved in some of the highest profile contentious regulatory matters of the last decade. However, the “bread and butter” work for the Financial Services Regulatory Associate will predominantly consist of non-contentious advisory and transactional work. Key responsibilities of the Financial Services Regulatory Associate Advising clients on a wide range of matters, with a particular focus on regulatory authorisations, industry documentation, consumer finance, financial crime, compliance investigation, regulatory enforcement and financial litigation. Developing relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client’s businesses, economic drivers, market and sector requirements in order to ensure advice is relevant and commercial. Engaging in business development activities and being active in the promotion of the firm and seeking opportunities for new work To be considered for the Financial Services Regulatory Associate role you will have: 2-5 years PQE strong financial services & regulatory experience gained at a city or international law firm excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent commerciality and demonstrable business development experience excellent written communication and drafting skills strong service orientation - a "client first" culture This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate to join a recognised team and work closely with leaders within Financial Services.
