JobTitle: Helpline Officer Hours: 21 per week Reports to: Helpline Manager Responsible for: Helpline Volunteers Location: Brockley Salary: £ 30,000 pro rata Mosac Background Mosac has been delivering unique support services for the families of victims of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) for over 25 years. In a safe environment, we offer free services to families affected by CSA, all of whom are vulnerable with some being excluded, or facing other forms of hardship. Mosac's services include a national Helpline, Counselling, Play Therapy, Advocacy & Advice, Training and Email support services. We enable families to achieve and sustain an improved quality of life by rebuilding confidence, alleviating isolation, improving well-being and resilience, promoting inclusion and empowering individuals to move on with their lives, with the skills and knowledge to safeguard themselves and their children in the future Role Description To assist with managing, delivering and develop a National Helpline Service for individuals and families whose children have been sexually abused and other professionals working with families whose children have been sexually abused, in accordance with Mosac's agreed strategic aims and objectives. To work collaboratively with other Mosac Service Managers to provide support that is tailored to suit the needs of individual clients. To ensure a high-quality service, providing appropriate support and guidance to all volunteers, including ongoing assessment of their individual training needs and delivering monthly group supervision meetings. To ensure adequate numbers of appropriately qualified, skilled and experienced Mosac trained volunteers are retained to ensure that the Helpline can operate during working days. Key Responsibilities Supporting and supervising the work of all Helpline Services volunteers, providing individual support and guidance Maintaining an active and up to date rota for Helpline volunteers Arranging group supervision sessions, at least once a month, for all Helpline Service volunteers Recording and storing accurate and up to date records in accordance with Mosac's data protection requirements Assisting the Volunteer Manager with the recruitment and selection of Helpline Service volunteers Induction and shadowing of Helpline Service volunteers Key Responsibilities (continued) Maintaining, updating and developing all Helpline resources Accurate and appropriate monitoring and evaluation of Helpline Service Contribute towards timely and accurate reporting to Mosac funders Assisting with preparation of supporting information for new fundraising applications, as required Assisting with preparation and submission of regular Helpline Service reports to the Board of Trustees Being proactive in keeping up to date with relevant legislative changes and other Helpline Service related developments Attending regular clinical Supervision, supported by Mosac Attending regular Mosac staff and team meetings Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required from time to time by the charity Some flexibility and out of hours working may be required from time to time Disclosure and Barring Service and Data Protection Due to the nature of Mosac's work with vulnerable children and adults, the Helpline Officer will be required to provide information for a Criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service) on first appointment and thereafter every two years. Where the Helpline Officer has access to data relating to clients of Mosac, all such personal data shall be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation introduced on 21 May 2018.
