Overview

Finance Director | FinTech Lending Scale-Up (Rapid Growth) | London Harmonic Finance are currently working on an exclusive basis for one of UK's most exciting FinTech businesses in the lending and credit risk space. They have raised almost £20m to date are in the process of a £75m Series B raise to drive international expansion. Using Tech to successfully disrupt the Asset & Leasing segment of the market they have achieved impressive Turnover figures in 2019 and are forecasting double that in 2020. The fundraise is earmarked to support with product launches in two or three major European Markets which is forecasted to drive revenue growth to over £100m in 2021. Backed by two respected European VC funds they have around 130 employees with Product and Customer Success teams based overseas. The Head office is in a spectacular yet 'rough and ready' space in the heart of Shoreditch. Following the Series B raise they plan to move to their own purpose-built space in the City/ Old Street. They have started to build a leadership team with experience in some of the world's most successful and recognisable Tech businesses with an incredibly smart, high performing teams throughout the business. The role: This is an opportunity to join the business as the first Finance Director. There is an excellent Financial Controller in the business already allowing this position to be freed up to focus on high level strategic and commercial decision making. The Finance Director will be integral in leading future funding rounds and facing off to VC Investors. To do this there is a need to build and improve financial models, long term forecasting, decision support/ finance business partnering with the wider business and KPI reporting. They are of course FCA regulated and require more robust financial controls around risk as the business scales. Responsibilities: Drive commercial performance across the business Provide strategic direction to the CEO and Leadership teams Implement new processes around KPI analytics, forecasting and planning (FP&A) Face off to Venture Capital Investors Lead the business through major future fundraises Business Partner with multiple teams across the business holding them accountable and providing decision support Ad Projects and potential M&A work Manage a Financial Controller to ensure robust controls and processes (given the business works in the Asset & leasing space there is extensive risk exposure which needs to be managed) Support the build out of a Finance team What we need to see (Essential): Experience of working within at least one Series A-C scale-up or start-up (any industry) A real enthusiasm for commercial financial analysis and an ability to develop KPI dashboards. Strong communication skills, including the ability and confidence to present to prospective investors Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), Corporate Finance or Investment Banking Background What we'd like to see (Non-Essential): Experience in an FCA regulated environment Financial Services experience in the Lending industry Clear ownership of investor Relations and fundraising Wider Operational exposure as is often the case in start-ups Location: Shoreditch Salary: Flexible depending on experience share options Please get in touch at or give me a call on .
