Overview
As Financial Controller you will be required to provide actual and forecast financials to support short term productivity, long term process change and ensure reliable standard cost data is available for pricing. In particular you will be responsible for budgeting factory overheads, developing standard cost assumptions, monitoring variances, and using this information to provide insight to operational colleagues. Client Details Michael Page Finance are exclusively retained by a listed global manufacturer based in Uxbridge. Within their UK operation they employ 1,000 staff across five manufacturing plants and are going through a transformation. The business is a market leading manufacturer who produce high volumes of their engineered products. The business is looking to hire a Financial Controller who will be responsible for the manufacturing sites. Reporting to the EMEA Financial Controller this is a very visible role within the organisation working closely with the senior leadership team, operations and you will be responsible for one direct report. Description The Financial Controller will be responsible for: Setting budgeted costs for manufacturing cost centres; Calculating cost recovery assumptions; Ensuring correct operation of the Standard Costing process (colleagues are responsible for Bills of Materials and Routings); Monitoring price variances in conjunction with purchasing team; Monitoring overhead variances and underlying root causes; Explaining monthly impact of factory performance on gross margin; Ensuring stock valuation under Moving Weighted Average and Standard Costs in correctly applied, and assessing the need for provisions; Ad-hoc analysis of factory productivity. Profile The successful Financial Controller will be: A qualified accountant Used an integrated ERP system within in a manufacturing environment (Ideally SAP) Standard costing and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment Excellent analytical and Excel skills Management and development of a small team Strong communicator, able to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders Detail focused, but with clear understanding of the wider implications Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise Job Offer The Financial Controller role comes with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
