Right now, we need you on our team Your Mission FairHeat's Financial Assistant role is fundamental to our company achieving its aims. As part of our Finance team, you'll be working closely with our Engineers and Service Delivery teams to ensure that they can operate as effectively as possible, providing assurance that targets are met, clients are invoiced, and suppliers are paid. In doing so, you'll be saving carbon emissions and reducing the overall cost to deliver heat. This is a Part-Time role for 20 hours per week. Essential Skills A degree in business management or operations. Experience with general accounting and bookkeeping practices. Spreadsheet expertise (Excel). Experience delivering and presenting financial data to a range of stakeholders. Ability to undertake ad-hoc financial analysis for FairHeat or our stakeholders as required. Strong empathy and the capacity to react calmly and efficiently, even when others are stressed. Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English. Nice to have: Good understanding of Engineering or Consultancy practices. Experience working in an SME/start-up environment. Xero/WorkflowMax. Desirable Skills You'll be a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Assistant with knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping practices, and a strong work ethic. You will assist with the day-to-day task in our finance department and play an integral role in maintaining account information. Naturally inquisitive, you'll be comfortable recommending and implementing relevant tools and new processes. You'll have a common-sense approach to financial systems, allowing you to quickly understand the fundamentals and communicate them to non-financial stakeholders. Confident and self-motivated, comfortable within an SME, you'll have an excellent interpersonal style, able to operate effectively as part of a dynamic team. You'll feel comfortable speaking to clients at all levels of seniority.
