Offering a competitive circa of £55,000 per annum, a dynamic and friendly working environment, and a varied position within an established company, we are looking for a hardworking Fleet Manager to join our team in Bracknell, Berkshire. Shorts Group Limited is an established, independent family-owned business offering excellent quality and services having 60 years of experience in serving the various aspects of the construction, agricultural and waste management industries. The Role: The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Company fleet (currently around 100 vehicles) is supported to be effective, legal and compliant. You must live within a 1 hour commute of Bracknell. Role responsibilities for the Fleet Manager: Managing and administering all aspects of the company Operator license Ensuring that all DVSA and company compliance standards are adhered to Working with the Workshop Manager to ensure timely scheduling for PMI, MOT, servicing, drivers routine checks and that the workshop is maintained with inspections etc. Carry out audits Daily monitoring of the defect reports Reviewing, documenting and improving compliance and safety in operations/safe systems of work i.e. supporting driver briefings on performance, operations, health & safety etc. Taking action against any infringements reports on from Tacho reports Managing and controlling costs of fleet maintenance and work with managers to ensure efficiency Reporting to senior management as required on KPI’s (costs, availability, accidents etc.) Ensuring all incidences/accidents reported are investigated and actioned upon, administrating Vehicle/Insurance databases and claims, and negotiating insurance renewal Supporting the Workshop Manager with stock strategy (levels & costs) Working closely with department managers to agree scope of new vehicle purchases and manage asset disposals / new vehicle on-boarding Advising the business on industry wide developments (i.e. alternative fuels and emissions etc. line with legislation changes) Acquiring and maintaining FORS status Carrying out any other reasonable request as required by your Line Manager or the Customer Requirements for the Fleet Manager: Must be within 1 hour commute of Bracknell CPC Transport Manager Qualification / Operators License / Full DVLC Compliance management experience in transport a multi-site/large fleet environment Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills Good knowledge/understanding of FORS etc. IT literate and experienced in preparing and delivering reports Professional, confident, flexible and positive An analytical problem solver that works well under pressure
