Who are we? Grayson Thermal Systems develop innovative thermal products for our global customer base. From our headquarters in Tyseley, Birmingham, we produce a range of cooling & heating products for the bus, coach and specialist vehicle market thermally controlling diesel, hybrid, electric and hydrogen powertrain options. We are growing strongly and are looking for our next generation of talent to develop solutions to tomorrow's complex problems. Key Responsibilities Acting as an engineering ambassador for the group and build a more successful business through engineering excellence across the globe Project management skills are essential, with ability to control a team who manage multiple projects Confident in all situations, i.e., customer facing, dealing with internal and external sales, quality, manufacturing and all other departments Good understanding of manufacturing processes and capabilities. Plan strategies to improve processes and solve problems in a practical way Work with executive management to coordinate engineering resource for the group Drive KPIs for all areas within engineering teams Recommend methods and targets to lower engineering modification and on costs and improve the quality of service offered within the department Improve and maintain communication inside and outside of the Company Keep appraised of current industry-related information Person Specifications Practical electronic engineering experience, including design, CFD and thermodynamics would be advantageous. Direct senior management experience, including performance management Experience in sectors with industrial vehicles is highly desirable. Experience in operating and influencing at a strategic level Strong, confident, emotionally tough, able to lead and inspire others Must be a good communicator both written and verbally and able to communicate with staff and customers at all levels A good listener, observant, enthusiastic about investigating and solving problems Comfortable with a hands on approach but also able to step back / see overall picture Must be organized and able to set priorities and schedules Keen to face constant fresh challenges, enthusiastic and dedicated Ability to meet project deadlines and work within budgetary constraints Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, sales, suppliers, customers and other company personnel Ability to make sound judgment and execute quick decision making with rational risks.
