Overview

We are currently looking to recruit a G2 IT Operations Senior Manager at our London, Bristol or Leicester site. Enterprise Service is part of Digital, Data and Technology in the NCA. We manage the day to day operation of the NCA IT estate, ensuring the ongoing delivery of suitably assured and operational IT services to users, responding to incidents and escalations as they arise. This is enabled through the leadership of the transition of new and changed services in and out of to the live environment and the supervision and management of the IT supply chain to ensure services are delivered in accordance with Service Levels aligned to user expectations. In order to achieve this, Enterprise Service must take a through life approach to IT service and continually look to develop and build a team of professional and experienced IT Service Management practitioners who are suitably skilled to support a complex and varied IT estate that is evolving through the delivery of the NCA transformation Programme. Job description As part of a team of technology professionals, you will be using your skills and expertise to: • To lead a team over the functions of IT Operations, Application Management, and Supplier Engagement, ensuring your teams function as a single combined and focussed business unit to support the National Crime Agency’s (NCA’s) business objectives. Manage the performance of applications and business services provided. • Direct the activity of the Supplier Engagement function to work within the supply chain and with their representatives, assess and assure processes, ensure high performance relationships and to build or enhance capability, efficiency and quality. • Provide leadership to a geographically dispersed team of; ICT technical professionals, across a number of grades and skills. Leadership You will also need to demonstrate the below technical criteria: • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including networking, servers storage and backup You will also have the below experience: • Demonstrable experience in ITIL Service Management, including ITIL certification at the foundation level • Experience in managing multifunctional teams and IT Operations in a large, complex IT environment • Experience in managing and influencing suppliers in a complex multi-vendor environment As a leader in the NCA you will also: • Lead your team or work stream effectively, through being flexible and open in thought and action. • Communicate with transparency, involving your team members in the agency’s transformation journey. • Role model the agency’s values and mission. • Be passionate about diversity and developing people inclusively, strengthening their ability to deliver and enabling them to grow in their roles and careers.
