Job Description Primary role purpose: During the bidding phase you will work with Commercial, Sales, PM, technical and delivery teams and be the dedicated pricing/financial business case lead for a major strategic tender over the course of the next 12-18 months. Following contract award, you will transition to become the financial controller for the programme over its multi-year lifespan, managing finances for the contract delivery as well as continuing as pricing lead for the major in-life transformation proposals which form an intrinsic and critical aspect to the overall programme. Key Responsibilities: Bidding phase: * Responsible for coordination, creation, review and presentation of Estimating, Costing & Pricing information in a coherent and robust business case * Lead the modelling of estimated costs, overheads, revenues, cashflow, profitability, etc * Prepare financial summaries for bid team reviews and formal business approval gates * Support the continuing development and implementation of effective estimating and costing processes, methodologies and tools * Develop a thorough risk matrix with support from the bidding team; with clear mitigation actions which identify significant cost drivers to the program and how these are to be resolved * Work with the wider consortium to agree to a pricing strategy * There will likely be some periods where working out of normal office hours is required and there may be a limited requirement to travel within the UK Delivery phase: * Work alongside the programme team to model estimated costs against actuals to determine overall project financial strategy and outcome * Develop pricing in response to customer changes and price in accordance with the developed pricing principles for the programme * Identify areas to drive additional revenue during the programme through profitable scope extension and issuance of contract change notices * Co-ordinate with the Programme Manager to transfer management reserve into operating margin should such risks be retired.sky * Identify and help mitigate any negative potential cash flow projections * Once all contract deliverables are complete, work alongside the Programme Manager and Contract Manager to close the programme Qualifications Please note this role requires UK Security Clearance (SC Level) and as such, we can only accept applications from British Citizens or those who have Dual Citizenship. It is advantageous if you already hold Security Clearance but not necessary as we will support you with the application to achieve this. Essential Knowledge and Skills: * Strong experience with financial modelling and quantitative problem solving, ideally business case development for bespoke service solutions * Highly numerate with strong commercial awareness and thinking * Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills * Proficient in Microsoft Project and financial accounting systems * Experience in Risk Management, Change Management and contract negotiation * Extensive experience in B2B pricing responsibilities * Strong analytical skills, including complex problem solving and optimisation; experience in analytically based decision-making * Theoretical understanding of pricing principles and microeconomics * Working knowledge of general Finance, Accounting and Tax principles * Experience in the satellite/telecommunications, engineering or IT industries would be preferable Additional Information You must be eligible to work in this location advertised.
