Job Title: Occupational Therapist Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire Hours: Full Time flexible 40 hours per week Salary: £26,000 per annum Our Client is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join their team in Borehamwood. Essential: - Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in occupational therapy - Current HCPC registration - Excellent organisation and time management skills - The ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Initiative and creativity - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Up to date knowledge of OT models and theories - Ability to reflect on and criticise own performance - Computer skills - Understanding and appreciation of CPD - An awareness of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) Knowledge of MOCA would be advantageous but not essential. Description Desirables: - Current UK Driving License - Professional Practice Education Accreditation (APPLE) - Post-registration experience in mental health - Experience of involvement in audit, and gaining service user feedback. - Professional practice education of occupational therapy students - Experience of working in a rehabilitation setting - Experience of working with male and female patients - Postgraduate qualifications in related subject areas - Up to date knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and policy - Presentation and teaching skills Knowledge: - Knowledge of current national policies, legislation and professional standards in practice. - Knowledge of relevant models of care. - Knowledge of evidence-based, occupationally focused assessments relevant to the client group. - Knowledge of specialist occupationally focused interventions relevant to the client group. Skills: - Excellent communication skills. Able to develop and maintain communication with people about difficult and sensitive matters/situations. - Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team. - Excellent problem-solving skills. - Sound theoretical base. - Able to assess occupational function and contribute to overall assessment of health and well- being needs. - Able to select and use appropriate standardised assessments. Physical: - Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary).
