Occupational Therapist - Full Time - Permanent - Borehamwood - £28,000 - £33,000 per annum benefits A leading independent inpatient provider of treatment and care, providing individualised care to patients in a locked rehabilitation environment is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join their therapies team. The 30-bedded hospital manages both male and female patients with complex personality disorder, treatment resistant psychosis and dual diagnosis. With a mantra of "Openness, honesty and realistic expectations" the hospital enjoys a great reputation both in the local area and with NHS Commissioners, with recommendations being given such as "The residential service which you provide to people with mental health problems is of the very highest quality and standard, and stands as a benchmark." Set in picturesque grounds, the hospital also boasts a library, multi-purpose room, therapy studios and grounds. The service specialises in MBT (Mentalization Based Therapy) treatment for personality disorder. You will need to be a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with experience or an interest in mental health and neuropsychiatric work. You should also possess good knowledge of Risk Assessment and Risk Management. You will be responsible for the assessment of patient need and the development, implementation and evaluation of Occupational Therapy treatment and programmes of care, with the emphasis on group and individual interventions and recovery focused care. In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Assessing and treating all patients at the Hospital, using a range of approaches. - Ensuring that all patients at the Hospital take part in recovery planning and that recovery goals and programmes are regularly reviewed. - Keeping up to date with new treatment methods and be actively involved in research projects relating to mental health. - Attending Multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, CPA's and case conferences as required. - Evaluating treatment and keeping accurate records, maintaining high professional standards and complying with current legislation. - Providing support and guidance for lower grades of staff and seeking advice from the Head of Therapies with complex cases where necessary to assist in the treatment of such cases. - Ensuring security of the therapy rooms and its resources, in conjunction with all staff using its facilities. - Undertaking line management supervision, appraisals, sickness and absence reviews, produce performance management frameworks and the necessary risk assessments for the allocated OTAs. - Partaking in the teaching of staff members in relation to OT, rehab and recovery. This is a full time, permanent position based in Borehamwood. Part time applications will be considered. The salary offered for the position is £28,000 - £33,000, depending on experience.
