Building Surveyor/Project Manager
Overview
Your new company Hays Property & Surveying are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on behalf of our client. Our client has been established for over 20 years and is a small construction consultancy with clients both in the public and private sector. Projects included in sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, residential, retail and leisure. Your new role You will be seconded to a Student Accommodation client where you will work from their offices in central London. You will work both individually and part of a team to conduct inspections, provide design specifications and technical advice and support to Project Managers with the delivery of construction contracts on a wide range of products. You will be responsible for providing building surveyor related advice and technical input including design and tender drawings to support refurbishment schemes; undertake technical building inspections producing feasibility and concept design reports; inspect specific building defects. You will have experience within fire precautions. What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will have previous experience as a Building Surveyor on similar projects preferably within a similar industry/similar institution. You will have experience in a client-side role with good stakeholder communication skills. You will be able to undertake specialist building surveys which will include feasibility studies, condition surveys, measured surveys and defect diagnosis. You will have proven track record of the provision of design and specifications at all stages of a construction project and a strong knowledge of standard forms of contract. You must be Chartered and have previous experience within fire precautions.
