A financial services background is not essential, more important are your attitude, technical acumen and the ideas you can bring to the team. With a bustling project pipeline scheduled for 2020 and beyond this is your chance to join a team focused on innovation and evolution. About the role: The main focus of this role will be to develop high quality Java Enterprise code in an Agile and fast moving environment. This role sits in a team who focus on Greenfield projects and are in the process of introducing a product that is truly unique in its field. As a senior member of the team it will also be your responsibility to mentor your more junior colleagues through reviews and pair programming, so previous experience to this kind of environment would be useful. You will stay up to speed with emerging technologies which could be introduced to improve and update the current process and constantly be looking for fresh solutions. About you: The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Exposure to professional Java development, as well as major frameworks and server containers such as Spring, Tomcat and JBoss. A strong grasp of Agile development methodologies and a familiarity with TDD, automation and Continuous Integration. Development of RESTful JSON web services, MVC frameworks and JSP Occasions when you have been involved in the delivery of complex technical projects Mentoring capabilities Excellent communication skills are also important, while a background in financial services is not essential.
