About the role: Thames Water is undergoing significant business transformation spanning all areas of the organisation and as such the environment is fluid, challenging yet hugely rewarding. The Transformation and Change Team is recruiting for a Business Architect to join the newly formed Business Architecture team. Business Architecture is a newly set up area of expertise and forms a key part of the Transformation and Change Team. The Business Architect will be working in this new community of practice within the Thames Water “Project Management and Business Architecture” Job Family. The Business Architecture Team supports the design and improvement of the Thames Water Business Architecture, using agreed and measurable business performance indicators. As a Business Architect, you will work with senior business stakeholders to deliver business unit transformation programmes and to support the business planning/roadmap definition required to deliver tangible business outcomes from the strategy. You will also support the design and improvement of the Thames Water Business Architecture, using agreed and measurable business performance indicators. This position gives you the opportunity to be part of a new community of practice and be a member of a team that will provide crucial input and support to any business change programme. This role would be an excellent fit for you if you have 2 to 4 years of experience in internal strategy roles, consulting or roles involved in significant business transformation activities and operating model development. Key Accountabilities: Work with senior stakeholders to design business unit strategy, operating models and high-level process Derive valuable insight from quantitative and qualitative data Define key metrics to measure the quality and performance of business units Scoping and documenting transformation activity as inputs to transformation roadmaps Support wider Business Architecture activity (including customer experience design, process improvement, and business change management) Influence key stakeholders to support transformation activities Deliver compelling written and verbal communications, with strong presentation skills To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: Your previous experience is likely to be in Consulting or in working on major transformation activities in the Utilities, Financial Services, Energy, Oil & Gas or Aerospace & Defence sectors. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working on the definition, design, and delivery of Business Strategy and Business Design, ideally with experience in Target Operating Model or process improvement programmes. Experience of working on large scale transformation programmes, particularly with a broad operational focus will be a distinct advantage. You will be able to demonstrate your experience in business design, process improvement or target operating model design. You will understand how business improvement solutions may impact employees, customers, and other stakeholders. Some examples of qualifications you may have include: TOGAF/ MODAF BCS Diploma or certificates in Business Analysis ITIL Foundation and/or Practitioner MSP/ Prince 2 Practitioner APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) What’s in it for you?
