Finance Manager | FinTech Start-Up (VC Backed) | London The client Harmonic are excited to be working on an exclusive basis with one of the UK's most well-funded Fintech lenders. With over £75m of venture capital investment to date and the recent launch of several sizeable new funds they are forecasting rapid expansion following the introduction of new products to the UK market. 2020 is an exciting year with the business continuing expansion in the UK alongside a push into international markets. With around 80 members of staff headcount is set to nearly double this year. They have recently secured multiple lucrative partnerships with major FTSE listed companies which is a game changer in terms of market reach and potential. Based a short walk from Old Street station, in the start-up hub that is Shoreditch, the company has created an incredibly ambitious team from an eclectic mix of backgrounds and big personalities. It is an environment where they have a lot of fun, work hard and are keen to give people the platform to have genuine impact on the business and progress their career quickly. The role The Finance Manager will report to the Head of Finance and CFO with responsibility for implementing and improving the financial reporting and control environment to support the business as they scale. As a small, commercially minded team there will also be exposure to stakeholders in Marketing and Sales providing decision support as well as multiple ad-hoc projects around fundraising and management of SPV's. This will progress to Financial Controller in 18 months with the chance to build a team. Responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts Management of the monthly close and group consolidation process Implement financial controls around UK GAAP, IFRS 9 and loss provisioning Responsibility for implementation of new systems and processes Provide Finance Business Partner support to the wider business with a focus on Sales and Marketing producing insightful analysis Manage day-to-day Finance (AP, AR, bank reconciliations etc) Manage year end statutory reporting and relationship with the Auditors Manage tax compliance and relationships with external tax experts Continuous process improvement and system implementation to support the business as it grows Extensive Ad-Hoc Projects Build a team as the business scales Required Experience Qualified Accountant Strong Technical skills Excellent Communicator Ambitious and Passionate about being part of a scale-up Experience (Preferred) Experience in Financial Services Audit Experience in Financial Services or FinTech Experience producing financial reporting for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV's) in a lending business Please note the client will consider candidates coming straight out of Practice as well.
