Overview
Repair F&DT Engineer - Filton - 6-month contract We are currently for Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer to be part of the Wing Structures Repair Team and support all Wing Structural Repair activities. This is an exciting and challenging role that requires an in depth knowledge of F&DT analysis with regard to supporting the repair process defined by AP2433 and M20037. You will have a strong technical background in F&DT and excellent communication skills. In addition, you will be expected to have the capability of attaining a level 2 repair signatory delegation within a specified time period. You will need a good knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance assessment and an ability to apply this to metallic repairs to aircraft structures. Fatigue, crack growth and residual strength analyses will be performed to assess repair solutions and you will use Airbus methods and computer programs to ensure that the repair conforms to all relevant airworthiness requirements. A sound knowledge of structures, gained preferably in the aerospace industry, is essential and a good understanding of aircraft production methods and processes would be beneficial. RESPONSIBILITIES · Analysing requirements and specifying the software solution and work breakdown · Preparing software architectural and detailed design UML Models and documentation · Generating source code to implement all aspects of the software detailed design · Controlling and reviewing work of the members of their team (where a team exists) · Integration of software onto the target platform · Providing software technical support · Supporting the company software process and procedure updates SKILLS Essential Skills: · Relevant background in F&DT · Ability to quickly work towards gaining a delegated signatory level · Ability to perform in a high-pressure reactive environment · Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design and Static Stress groups · PC skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. · Be conversant with the technical requirements for analysing repairs · Good interpersonal and communication skills · The ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables and prioritise.
