Overview
Head of Product Development, Design & Release (Authentication) Basingstoke, Hampshire Are you passionate about coaching and guiding a team? Do you have experience of Product Development within manufacturing? We have a great new opportunity for a Head of Product Development to lead a team of c14 comprising of Designers, Engineers and Scientists. The team will be involved in creating new concepts and technologies into high quality products that are suitable for large scale manufacture. Working closely with Operations to ensure trials can be scaled into high volume manufacture with minimal disruption to day to day operations. We are looking for a strong leader who can manage budgets, who is focussed and can mentor and guide a successful team to ensure creative problem solving based on customer, market and product insight. What you will be doing: You will support and shape the development of product and technology roadmaps, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, notably product management, technical pre-sales and software development Ensure New Product Introduction process is managed through our internal and external supply chain to deliver timely, quality products to our customers Ensure all related functions are taken into account when planning development activities and integration into operations. Lead the delivery of new product specifications, including implementation guidelines, on time and in full Ensure close working relations with the operations and delivery teams to ensure new products are introduced in line with project timelines to parameters of quality, cost, throughput etc Drive new idea generation, ensuring all new ideas are collated in BrainBox Maintain strong awareness of the external technology landscape and use it to build alliances and partnerships for new product development. Lead the development of new concepts, including prototypes, structure design and new process capabilities. The right candidate will have: You’ll have a proven background and experience leading a development and new product release department. We are looking for someone who has experience within a manufacturing background particularly within FMCG/Plastics/Packaging/Coatings/Foils/Printing or similar transferrable experience. You’ll have proven experience leading a team who are introducing new products through large volume manufacturing processes across international sites. It would be great if you are able to bring a broad portfolio of product and features to market and show strong scientific and commercial / business acumen. You will be highly organized and possess the necessary planning skills as well as being agile in your approach. We are looking for someone who is highly driven with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills comfortable liaising internally and externally as required.
