Are you an experienced Logistics Planning Controller looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity where no two days are the same? If you are commercially confident, passionate and forward thinking, the team want to hear from you They are looking for a Logistics Planning Controller to join their team based in Manchester, working shifts across both days and nights. They are offering a fantastic package to join our team What will you be doing? The Logistics Planning Controller role combines the night shift planning function with the day shift controller function as follows: Night Shifts: Effective planning using Paragon software of all movement requests into daily delivery schedules, allocating appropriate vehicle types and officer resources. Interaction with Vehicle Base teams to refine and agree final daily schedules as appropriate. Allocation of court assistance and initial Mobile Officer Team allocation as part of the same schedule production. Day Shifts: Operational shift control within the our clients Logistics Centre involving high levels of internal and external customer interaction. Specifically, you will proactively managing the daily service delivery of Adults, Children & Young People and all Inter-Prison Transfer movements. You’ll also support the Resourcing Manager with effective utilisation of the Mobile Officer Team and interaction with vehicle base management teams to proactively manage the allocation of resources to maximise the efficiency of our Logistics Services. Additionally, you will enforce appropriate management of incidents which occur within the field of operation ensuring they are escalated through the relevant management structure What do you need? Excellent IT Skills – preferably to include a knowledge of routing and scheduling software Excellent interpersonal and people management skills Excellent attention to detail Good communication skills both verbal and written Analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data clearly Ability to react positively to highly pressurised, time sensitive incidents Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment Adaptable with the ability to manage in an environment of continuous change Experience of working within a custodial environment preferred but not essential Why work for us?
