Overview

Contractax is an exciting Accountancy and Taxation Practice based in Edinburgh, who are looking for an Accountant to join our growing team. We specialise in accountancy, book keeping, taxation and legislative compliance for the SME. We provide our clients with market leading solutions and are always looking out for the best possible employees. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients. Many of our client operate across various sectors, therefore a broad understanding of the accountancy sector would be useful. We expect all our team members to effectively and efficiently ensuring that the service we provide exceeds the company and client expectations. The key responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to: Taking on and managing new clients. Experience of Cloud Accounting Software (FreeAgent, Sage One, QuickBooks, Xero) Meet statutory deadlines for VAT, Payroll, Statutory Accounts, Company and Personal. General administration duties. The completion of year-end accounts, Company Tax Returns, and Corporation Tax computations. Offer tailored accountancy, taxation and tax planning advice. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients. Manage the client relationship whilst building a strong rapport and developing client loyalty. Working as a team to continuously deliver the best level of service possible. To undertake any other duties as requested by your line manager within the scope of the role. Employee Specification: Experience within an accountancy practice. Previously been responsible for managing a portfolio of clients. Qualified accountant (ACCA/CA) or equivalent commercial experience. Very good communications skills and be able to build and maintain business relationships. Job Type: Full-time Salary: £25,000.00 to £30,000.00 /year - based on practical industry experience
