Overview

Finance Director Dartmouth is partnering with a start-up sports marketing agency who help leading brands and sporting organisations to grow in an ever-increasingly digital age. With recent capital investment from HNW individuals and boasting several high-profile clients, the business is well positioned to continue its fast growth trajectory. Summary: As a result of their high growth strategy, the business has a requirement for a bright, ambitious qualified accountant to build and lead the finance function. Initially with one direct report, the finance team is expected to scale over time with the business. The role is a key member of the senior management team and will cover all aspects of accounting, planning, reporting and commercial support required in a high growth environment. The role will report directly to the CEO and will also work closely with the board. Responsibilities of the Finance Director: Lead the day to day management of the finance function and build a high performing team as the business scales. Develop and implement systems, policies and processes to ensure that financial management within the business has the highest levels of integrity Ensure that the company complies with relevant corporate governance requirements Develop and implement high quality reporting, including both financial and other KPI’s, to support the business and its board in strategic development, day to day management and decision making Participate fully as a member of the senior management team, with the ability to play a wider role than a purely functional one and make a positive impact to the effectiveness of the team Produce monthly board packs, attend board meetings and present financial updates to the board Support the CEO and board in developing longer term strategic plans which maximise shareholder value Take a key role in assessing and delivering any acquisition or investment opportunities Manage effective relationships with: The Board, which comprises the CEO plus 4 Non-Executive Directors The company’s auditors, tax advisors, legal advisors and other advisors Banks and equity investors The Candidate: Strong intellectual and analytical skills Solid technical accounting background, with an ACA/ACCA qualification ideally gained at one of the larger accounting firms Experience which demonstrates how their commercial/analytical ability has positively influenced a business Ability to ensure the integrity of the financial and commercial information the business requires A credible communicator, with good interpersonal skills Motivated to work in this sector and be part of the exciting growthplan.
