Overview

MRJ Associates is working on behalf of our client based in Enfield, who are currently recruiting for a Clinical Lead within Local authority paying £27 per hour. Main Purpose This is a hands-on nursing role but with additional responsibilities for ensuring the sustainability of high quality, personal centred care. All the responsibilities and duties included in the Registered Nurse Job Description are included. To take full responsibility for the delivery and standard of nursing and care provided at the home. This includes monitoring the performance of other nursing staff, team leaders and carers and ensuring compliance with relevant professional, regulatory and contractual requirements. To ensure effective person-centred care is delivered at all times, maintaining the highest standards of care & support to people who live in the home, whilst maintaining independence & choice in a homely environment. Always promote excellent customer service and treat people with dignity and respect. Actively ensuring the highest standard of care by managing and participating in the development of care companions, students & other allocated staff, as required. Taking full accountability for the home and the team in the absence of the Registered Manager. Assist the Registered Manager in conducting robust management audits to ensure compliance with relevant professional, regulatory and contractual requirements, and to take corrective action if required. This specifically includes the administration of medication and related issues, and the update and review of care plans and all related documentation (including computerised records if applicable). Taking responsibility for the nursing resource rota. This includes enforcing the contractual requirements of nurses to be available when reasonably required. This will require collaborative working with other services in IWE. Taking responsibility for managing nursing staff leave to ensure the needs of the home are paramount whilst allowing staff to take their contractual holiday entitlement. This will require collaborative working with other services in IWE. Working with the Registered Manager, facilitate the effective introduction of the Team Leader role to ensure safe transference of duties from nursing staff. Taking responsibility for performance monitoring of nursing staff, including supervisions and appraisals. This includes identifying required improvement and training and dealing with sub-standard performance. Ensure the assessed needs of people living in the home are regularly assessed to ensure that they receive the highest standard of care and service appropriate to their identified needs. Ensure each person living in the home has an up to date support plan which details the interventions needed to secure positive outcomes. To evaluate and review all support plans in line with policy to ensure they fully meet the required standard. Participate fully in the overall care of people who live there, enabling fulfilment and a sense of belonging. Take full responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. To respond professionally and effectively to clinical emergencies in the home seeking urgent/emergency support from GP/Out of Hours services/999 as needed. To promptly escalate any serious clinical issues/concerns to Registered Manager. Act professionally at all times, demonstrating and working within the NMC’s 'The Code’, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities), CSSIW minimum standards Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005 including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs). Actively manage end of life care, ensuring people’s wishes and beliefs are respected at all times. Key knowledge Have previous management experience Organising and planning staff rotas Supporting the registered manager with nursing supervision, appraisals and competency assessments. Able to demonstrate evidence of leadership skills Have a clear understanding of CQC standards/legislation Prior experience working in a care home Excellent communication skills Resilience and ability to work with sensitive and sometimes challenging information.
