Reporting Analyst London £38,000 - £42,000 perm benefits Report | SQL | Cognos | Data Warehousing | Business Intelligence A leading educational institute based in London is currently recruiting for a Report Analyst who will play a pivotal role in driving through our ambitious programme of improvements to business intelligence and reporting, helping ensure that the very best information is available to decision makers. Responsibilities You will need to have excellent SQL skills, to understand multi-dimensional data structures and have the ability to perform complex translations, as well as having a good working experience of the IBM Cognos business intelligence tools and data warehousing techniques. You'll be experienced in developing reports and working with colleagues to present information clearly and effectively, with first class communications skills and a thirst for understanding how organisations work. You use your knowledge of data analytics to positively impact and to troubleshoot problems and build effective improvement. You know how to communicate data with internal and external customers and understand the business problem, use data analytics to present a solution. Supporting the BI Reporting Team Leader in the provision of management information across the University to assist decision making and increase institutional accountability. Use your knowledge of data analytics to ensure the structuring of data within a data warehouse platform, and produce reports using the data warehouse as a trusted source of management information You have an investigative mindset and related skills that can be used with any number of tools to explore available data. Reports Analyst Job Brief Excellent SQL skills. Have a good working knowledge of forming complex SQL queries. Recent experience working on with IBM Cognos Analytics and the associated tools e.g. Data Manager and Framework Manager. Strong understanding of OLAP and dimensional modelling techniques Experience designing and developing reports and dashboards in a understandable and visually appealing way. Someone who can bring their experience of working in a BI team with a knowledge of Data architecture methods and Datawarehouse modelling techniques. Advise on a documentation structures and best practice. Ability to write documentation to a high standard. Excellent communication and presentation skills in order to share recommendations with colleagues. Data analytics skills, with the ability to find interesting trends or relationships in the data that could bring value to a business.
