Overview

Indirect Category Manager Salary: £50 - 60,000 per annum. Starting ASAP Main job purpose: Accountable for the implementation and delivery of the Indirect procurement category with an aim of leveraging best value for money from the company's goods and services expenditure. This will include the delivering value on TCO model, developing an SRM program and stakeholder management. Categories include but are not limited to Professional Services , IT Hardware & Software , HR services, Travel , Utilities , MRO & Facilities Management. Responsibilities: Category Strategy Development Define and deliver a category strategy for the provision of Indirect goods and services expenditure through category management, competitive tendering and contract management Maintain a healthy pipeline of sourcing activity/projects with realisable objectives and achieve them in the agreed time lines Provide commercial recommendations, negotiate appropriate contracts and support deliverables Stakeholder Management Manage a complex stakeholder environment across multiple individuals and organisations over long periods of time. Lead on stakeholder relationships at a senior level and be recognised externally as a key point of contact Build and maintain strong, positive and trusting relationships with all key stakeholders Build healthy Supplier Relationship Management plans with key suppliers delivering tangible benefits on a TCO model Continually track the supply market – keeping abreast of developments, trends, risks and opportunities Contract Management Manage the processes of in-contract performance measurement and management and delivering on agreed SLA’s & KPI’s Ensure that correct contract documentation is in place and risks are mitigated Timely renewal of contracts preventing being out of contract with suppliers Communication Create well-structured documents and presentations without guidance. Interactively tailor the depth of communicated information for specific audiences and situations Data Analytics Develop spend analysis process, overcome obstacles, solicit input from, and support of, senior stakeholders and suppliers where necessary Prepare (or provide guidance on how to prepare) a comprehensive category profile Use sampling / statistical techniques and deploy them effectively Identify creative and alternative means of structuring an approach to data analysis when required Negotiation Demonstrate a track record in leading complex or challenging negotiations. Think creatively about variables that can be traded to optimise the outcome for BPL as part of a full negotiation plan / strategy Managing People Manage team member(s) in the timely delivery of Category Management and Procurement Projects Structure and manage the work, delegate effectively, redirect team member(s) as focus shifts Manage the bi-annual performance review process and create development plans for team members where needed Ensure quality, performance and timeliness of team deliverables. The ideal candidate will have / be: 5 years’ experience in a procurement role Demonstratable experience of service contracts including SLA’s an KPI’s Experience in performance management and dispute resolution Manipulation of data to improve business process and delivery of role Graduate level of education or equivalent or relevant experience CIPS qualified Project management experience
