To help deliver this ambition the Estates team need to recruit an experienced Head of Campus Security. Your new role Your new role will to lead, design and develop the Security Service to deliver the highest service standards that enhance the student and staff experience and supports the University's objectives. To oversee the strategic development of an effective and professional security service that recognises the needs of staff and the wider community and supports excellent student experience. To act as the University's proactive specialist adviser on Security Management & Technologies and ensure effective security management practice is deployed and embraced across all areas of the University. Furthermore, you must ensure all elements of the security are compliant within current legal and statutory obligations, identifying and driving improvements in the service including measured performance criteria. More generally to ensure the team maintains its focus on delivering key University objectives and adopts a highly professional, proactive, customer focused approach in the delivery of services which support the best possible environment for students, staff and other stakeholders. The role holder will be required to travel between university sites (Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury) on occasions, however the position will predominantly be based at the Stoke campus. Experience Required In order to be considered for the role, you must have substantial experience in a similar role working in a professional environment, or a degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject such as Security and Risk Management, including membership of a professional body in security. It is essential you have a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and associated compliance strategies. Crucially, we are looking for someone who has the experience of thoroughly leading by example and has the ability to take our service, and our teams into the next phase of transformation. About You You will possess an excellent customer service ethos and be a confident, articulate communicator with a proven track record of building relationships at all levels, both internally and externally. Furthermore, you must demonstrate a strategic mindset and have experience of successfully influencing, engaging and managing teams through change management. You will confidently lead staff and contribute to the business planning and resource management by managing budgets, producing reports etc. Previous experience in a Higher Education setting would be preferable.
