Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to work for an established manufacturer in Grimsby. Multiple opportunities are available from Junior to Senior level Purpose of the job: Responsible for providing project management on a variety of process and product development projects to support continuous improvement within the plant. The role provides the link between process and engineering to deliver efficient and rapid implementation of small value capital projects ( Main tasks: 1. Work with the production team, process engineers and area managers to develop process or product improvement projects. 2. Develop a written specification for improvement projects, using contract mechanical or electrical engineering input as required. Includes project capital justification and modification approval forms (MAF) 3. Liaise with equipment suppliers, suppliers and contractors to carry out evaluation trials as necessary. 4. Provide specifications for suppliers and contract companies to obtain pricing for agreed projects. 5. Project manage implementation of projects, including supervising contractors on installation work 6. Lead and support commissioning of new projects locally and possibly globally. This may include training technicians. 7. Contributes to best practice exchange between the business units and sites for manufacturing. 8. Involved in the design and specification of proposals for inclusion on the Capital and Revenue budgets. 9. Supports new process and product development activities. 10. Writing SWPs, risk assessments, permits, COSHH assessments, control system FDSs, instructions and other documentation relevant to projects 11. Responsible for ensuring that HS&E matters are appropriately managed throughout area of responsibility to meet external and internal requirements/standards including own work performance and behaviour Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required: Degree qualified Chemical Engineer. Demonstrates a safe and responsible attitude. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team. Willing to be involved in developing the safety culture. Willing to be involved in any task that improves the products and processes. Previous experience in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment is essential.
