Overview
Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Chemical Technician to join our small, friendly Analytical team, providing physical testing. The individual will perform industry and Afton specific laboratory tests as requested, complete preliminary analysis, and record data. + Competently perform laboratory testing using established test methods. Assist in the development and modification of test methods if required. + Complete analysis and enter test results into the LIMS database to the required timescales and communicate results to appropriate parties as required. + Operate analytical equipment competently and in accordance with the test procedure. If required take responsibility for the calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the laboratory equipment and/or instrumentation necessary to perform the required test. + Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and safe condition. + Maintain adequate level of specific as well as general technical knowledge through training so as to perform required duties competently. + Ensure that ISO procedures and documentation is maintained on all ISO or quality related activities. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the ISO requirements. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS: + BSc or equivalent in Chemistry SKILLS/ABILITIES: + Computer literacy + Effective oral and written communication skills + Demonstrated ability to attend to details + Able to complete basic laboratory procedures with intermediate to minimal supervision + Able to demonstrate basic knowledge of safe laboratory practices and procedures + Able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of laboratory terminology and basic equipment use External Company Name: NewMarket Services Corporation External Company URL: www.newmarket.com
