Product Quality Role: With responsibility for yield improvement across the fabrication processes, you will be involved in the manufacturing of specialty optical fibre. You will contribute to the development of optical fibre characterisation and process monitoring methods, data analysis, statistical process controls, root cause investigations and corrective actions. The work environment will be characterised by frequent contacts and cross functional interactions with design, manufacturing and process engineering functions. Your Responsibilities: Arrange and analyse data to identify trends and correlations, preparation of technical documentation and reports Process failure mode analysis and corrective action planning Development and execution of quality, yield and capacity improvement initiatives Analysis, documentation and reporting of process technology improvements Product release & material disposition procedures · Plant / process start-ups, process transfers and scale ups · Adhere to company governance and quality processes and support the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment Skills and experience required: · You will have a MPhys/MEng or higher degree in Physics, or other Engineering discipline. 2 – 5 years of continuous processes experience within an optical technology or related high-tech industry Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, process technologies and business processes The ability to effectively present at both informal and formal training settings Data based and results driven with strong action orientation combined with practiced risk management abilities Problem solving, Six Sigma, root cause analysis Capability to arrange and analyse data to identify trends and correlations. Practical knowledge of optical fibres and their properties would be advantageous. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. English language: high level written and spoken, both colloquial and technical.
