Overview
As a Senior Scientist (Biomolecular Analysis) working for a leading manufacturing company based Reading you will be responsible for performing a range of analyses using ELISA, HPLC, Mass spectrometry, PCR, Tissue culture and enzyme assays independently. Perform complex method development and design validation protocols. Provide Technical direction within own area of expertise within the team. Provide training and supervise junior staff in routine activities and methods and interpretation. Take responsibility for elements of specific projects and/or specific areas of general laboratory/sample administration and assign housekeeping tasks as required. Perform data checking and provide interpretation of results for routine testing. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment. Skills and experience required: Excellent understanding of basic/UV/Visible and Fluorescence plate readers, HPLC and densitometers. Ability to perform complex method development and design validation protocols. Ability to deliver projects/work within tight timescales and ability to motivate and mentor junior scientific staff. Work experience working in developing or performing analysis on proteins, peptides or Nucleic acids. Knowledge of ICH guidelines and the ability to apply to assay validation design and performance. Analytical Project management. Educated to Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline Able to organise own work and others to maximise output.
